Toledo, Spain
Toledo is an ancient city south of Madrid in central Spain, situated on a hilltop overlooking the Tagus River. Praised for its rich cultural heritage as the former capital of the Visigoth kingdom, the city is linked to the renowned painter El Greco. Christian, Jewish, and Muslim cultures coexisted in Toledo for centuries, leading to a period of religious tolerance and leaving behind a unique architectural legacy.
