Spain
Spain is a country located in southwestern Europe – encompassing most of the Iberian Peninsula – known for its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage (including flamenco dancing), and vibrant cities like Madrid (capital) and Barcelona. It is a parliamentary constitutional monarchy with a significant coastline on the Mediterranean Sea, also including the Balearic and Canary Islands, and borders Portugal to the west and France to the north. Spain is a storied country of stone castles, snowcapped mountains, vast monuments, and sophisticated cities – all of which make it an attractive travel destination. The Romans and the Moors, conquerors of Africa, both played a key role in shaping Spain’s history. Spain is known for having some of the best beaches in the Mediterranean. From the wild Galician coast to the warm Mediterranean Sea, Spain boasts nearly 3,000 miles of coastline and is home to roughly 600 Blue Flag beaches.
