Paris, France
Paris, the capital city of France, is renowned as a global center for culture, fashion, art, and cuisine, often referred to as the “City of Lights” due to its prominent role in the arts and its early and extensive street lighting system. Notable landmarks include the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Notre Dame Cathedral. The Seine River flows directly through the heart of Paris, dividing the city into the Left Bank and Right Bank. Paris has long been considered one of western Europe’s major centers of culture and business, and is the primary political and economic hub of France. Some of the world’s greatest artists, writers, scholars, fashion designers, and chefs have lived in Paris. The city recently hosted the 2024 summer olympic games.
