Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt remains a major European financial center and is home to the European Central Bank and the Deutsche Börse stock exchange. It contains many museums, including the Städel Museum, which features European art from nine centuries, and the Museum of Applied Arts, which exhibits furniture and design from the 10th to 21st century. Frankfurt is known for its modern skyline, which includes some of Europe’s tallest skyscrapers. It serves as a major international transportation hub, with Germany’s busiest airport, Frankfurt Central Station, and the Frankfurter Kreuz interchange. Frankfurt is also widely known for its high-quality sausages (frankfurters), Grüne Soße, and Ebbelwei (apple wine). Frankfurt hosts many street festivals, markets, folk festivals, and open-air events throughout the year. It is also a great city for walking with a vibrant central train station – the Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof.
